For healthy happy pets

I am Beth.

I moved to Bournemouth at the age of 5, having been born in Sussex. I was brought up on a market garden where I always had a variety of pets (cats, guinea pigs, hamster, rabbits, a gerbil, 2 budgies,  goldfish, a lamb and at the South & West Wilts Hunt I even had a pet calf). I also helped my Aunt look after her chickens and my Uncle to look after his pigs, but my first love was always horses.

When I was about 8 my parents couldn’t keep me away from the local riding school until at the age of 16 I went to college where I did a course in business studies. After college I trained as a groom with Betty Skelton (a former president of the B.H.S. ladies sidesaddle association) on the edge of Salisbury Plain, and then worked at a racing stable, two hunt stables and on a private yard before leaving to start our family.

In 1995 with Peter’s redundancy imminent we started Pets Direct.

I enjoy taking part in Dog agility. I took our border collie Mollie to classes for some time, but she has now retired due to her age. Our younger dog, a springer spaniel x collie called Bella, is now showing great potential and I take her to various competitions. We belong to the Gillingham Dog Training School. We love agility and would recommend it to anyone and everyone & Molly & Bella would recommend it to any dog no matter what size or breed.
